A Hope Street Initiative
The first project for our Hope Street Initiative is The Hope on Alvarado Apartments. Hope on Alvarado entails the new construction of an 84-unit affordable development supported by the MRSA and financed with tax exempt bonds. The property is located at 166 South Alvarado Street in Los Angeles, in the community known as the Westlake District. Project completed 2021.
Unit Makeup
The proposed unit mix is as follows:
1-bed / 1 bath: 31 Units
ADA Open Plan / 1 bath: 52 Units
Manager: 1 Unit
TOTAL: 84 Units
Unit Interiors
Each unit will contain a living area, kitchen, and one bath. 32 units will be one bedroom with the 52 units being open plan, fully ADA adaptable. Each resident will be provided a refrigerator, a two-burner electric stove top, microwave, faux hard wood floors, and ceiling fan with light. Initially, all units will be partially furnished, with a bed, night stand and lamp, small kitchen table with two chairs.
Amenities
The property amenities will include secure access, a laundry facility, community and computer room, a community room, an interior courtyard, and each resident will be allocated a case manager to assist in their reintegration to society. Other social services will be added to enhance the daily living of its residents.
